dominique and i are finally feeling "settled in" in our new home. our living room furniture arrived two days ago, replacing the folding chairs we've used for two months. we're painting some of our old furniture in an attempt to resurrect its usefulness. right now its primed and ready for finish painting. dominique may be painting it as i type this. we'll post pics soon of the new place. although we had our first event at our new place the day we moved in (literally; it was just the way things work out, dominique's entire family had been planning to come visit us for weeks and it just so happened that we got our temporary CO the day before everyone arrived) our first official event is this saturday. one of my best friend's in petoskey, tanner kolb, is leaving for greener pastures (i will never understand his obsession with really green grass :), and we're having a farewell party. i'm discussing themes for the party with dominique and jeff. we might do a "wear the absolute ugliest clothes in your closet" theme. sounds fun.
